DETAILED ENGINEERING DESIGN
Gute offers multidisciplinary support across the full range of detailed engineering design. We fully understand the significance of world class technologies regarding
infrastructure, plant layouts, equipment design, performance and safety as related to productions. Therefore, it is our philosophy that proper design and layout of
infrastructure is imperative to maximize efficiency both in design (CAPEX) and Operations (OPEX).
Engineering Workshop facilities
Gute owns and operates a workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa with renowed capabilities in mechanical and 3D draughting, structural fabrications, machining, equipment assembling, commissioning and maintenance. To date, the workshop has successfully designed, fabricated, assembled, and commissioner plants, water and slurry reticulation systems in Africa. The workshop keeps a team of artisans ready to travel to our clients’ sites on short notice to attend to breakdowns.
TECHNICAL, ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CONSULTANCY
We provide clients with technical, financial, and economically optimized solutions to ensure project advancements to final phases. To serve our clients’ diverse requirements, we provide solutions in all disciplines of electrical, civil,Concentrator (before dismantling) process, mechanical, geotechnical, and environmental services over the complete life-cycle of a project.
OPERATIONAL MAINTENANCE
Gute has embraced the industry trend towards outsourcing the operational aspects of minerals processing and can provide a complete operations solution. It is able to
guarantee continuity of production, has the flexibility to manage exceptional conditions and is able to remain focused on the specifics of the operation under its
control to ensure that it achieves the financial and quality goals of the contract. All operating contracts are supported by Gute’s engineering, procurement and logistics
teams, and have full access to our in-house fabrication facility.
PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT
Gute’s procurement service provides sourcing solutions that balance total cost, delivery time and quality for all the projects. With the use of state-of-the-art
software, we manage the specification, qualification, estimation, scheduling, and delivery of all required materials. We leverage on our international procurement
expertise and global supplier networks to provide the best value for our clients. The procurement’s role ensures that all Gute’s projects systematically apply industry
best practices that include:
- Adequate resourcing.
- Proficient internal control.
- Coordination between departments (engineering, project controls and
- construction).
- Optimal contract administration processes inspection/expediting.
- Logistics/insurance/customs processes and
- Effective use of procurement systems.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Gute utilises a combination of its own workforce and locals to perform construction activities on site. We find this model (Partial-Self-Perform Construction Model)
cheaper as the local general labourer workforce is not in need of accommodation,living out allowances, food, and transport. Where needed, Gute hires expatriate
labour at cost, for and on behalf of the client to supplement own and local labour.
When operating in remote locations, Gute specifies and supplies all the necessary construction equipment, vehicles, and tooling for the various teams. This approach
allows for substantial construction cost savings, efficient construction schedules, greater oversight of the project, improved quality control, and ensures that highest
health and safety standards are in place.
